carefreemoving.ca 5 Andrei A. @2013-08-29 I'm sorry to hear that Norma (the reviewer below) had a negative experience. I also found Carefree Moving online and read some reviews before making up my mind. They moved me yesterday (Aug 28) without any issues whatsoever.2 guys arrived at 4pm as promised. I signed the contract and they promptly started loading stuff into the truck after doing the initial inspection to determine the quantity of stuff and what needs to go first in the truck. The guys spoke Russian and because I also speak Russian, there was zero language barrier for me personally. I can't vouch for their English language skills, so your experience might be different than mine. They had plenty of blankets in which they wrapped a painting, a glass table and a mirror. The move from 1 bedroom to another 1 bedroom within a 2KM radius took 2 hours and 30 minutes. They offer a very competitive rate of $55/hour and they charge a fixed $95 fee for transportation, meaning you pay for the time and gas they spend to get to your place and from your place back to the office/warehouse. So, I was charged $55 x 2.5 + $95 (fixed transportation fee). The guys had a spacious truck, no more than 5 years old. Most other moving companies either have a 4-hour minimum at $70+/hr or charge a lot per hour. These guys are priced very competitively with no minimums. Most other companies I called (and I called over 10 companies in Toronto) were quoting me anywhere from $250 to $600 for just 2 hours of work, due to 3-4 hour minimums, compounded by rather high initial fixed fees that cover transportation expenses.I cannot guarantee that your experience will be smooth. Some people are really picky, sometimes unreasonably so, but if you want people will do the job at a reasonable rate, Carefree Moving is a good option to consider.
